FAQ

A list of the most frequently asked sleep training questions I receive from parents.

What is responsive sleep training?

Responsive sleep training involves creating a sleep plan that helps your little one get the optimal sleep they need whilst always ensuring their needs are met. The plan looks at various aspects of the sleep journey including day time sleep, bedtime routines, the sleep environment and little one's personality.

What ages do you work with?

My services are for parents getting prepared for baby's arrival all the way through to children age 6 years. I don't 'sleep train' babies until at least 18 weeks old though as developmentally they aren't ready for it. I have an information session that's ideal for babies aged 0-3 months or for pregnant women who are preparing in advance.

Will my little one be left to cry?

I would never suggest doing the 'cry it out' method where a little one is simply left all night with no-one checking in on them. However, I cannot promise there won't be tears as you will be making a change which will frustrate little one when they can't get what they want or are used to. That is simply their way to communicate.

What areas do you cover?

I'm based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire but as much of my work is online, I can help families across the world. The only limiting factor would be that I can only speak English unfortunately!

Can you help with siblings?

Absolutely! I offer a discount to work with siblings at the same time. I recently had a client with a 7 month old and nearly 3 year old who all co-slept and the Mum wanted some of her own space back. It worked amazingly and within less than a week both children were sleeping through in their own sleep space. This was completely doable with my support even as a single parent.

I'm still breastfeeding, can I get sleep help?

Of course! I would never stop anyone from breastfeeding. Just like with bottle feeding, I would work with you on how to change things around to help aid sleep.
